Community Guidelines
Pollit works when people show up honestly and treat each other well. These guidelines exist to protect that.
Be real
Share genuine perspectives — not what you think sounds smart. The most useful answers come from honest experience.
Be kind
Disagree with an idea, not a person. Treat every voice as someone who is genuinely trying to make a good decision.
Add something
When you explain your vote, make it count. One thoughtful sentence is worth more than a paragraph of noise.
Respect privacy
Don't share personal information about others. Don't screenshot and weaponize private polls.
No hate, harassment, or spam
Content targeting people based on identity, harassment of individuals, or spam have no place here and will be removed.
Keep it constructive
Pollit exists to help people make clearer decisions — not to score points, build audiences, or go viral. Stay grounded in that purpose.
How to report something
- 1
Use the "Report" option on any poll or WHY response.
- 2
Choose the reason that best fits: spam, harassment, misinformation, offensive content, or other.
- 3
Our team reviews reports and takes action within 24–48 hours.
- 4
You won't be notified of the outcome, but every report is read.
A note on moderation
Pollit is a small, human-operated community right now. We don't have automated moderation at scale — yet. If something is genuinely harmful, please report it and we will act on it. We'd rather be slow and thoughtful than fast and wrong.
Dr. Jaffe believes good decisions come from good conversations. Be the kind of person she'd want in the room.
